Where were you on that date
I clearly remember being in the Boilermaking workshop at Cessnock (South
Annexe) awaiting the arrival of my evening class ( making projects),
when ?? White came into the workshop and asked if I heard the news! Of
whitlam's dismissal. I was not only gobsmaked and upset, I would have
taken up arms if Whitlam - on the radio news - hadn't called for calm.
It was an unbelievably distressing experience - an almost civil war atmosphere
