Maw oft stated 'I was born under the shadow of Wallace's Monument(at
Causewayhead). Maw is now buried at Logie
Cemetery, still under the shadow of Wallace! But, just a few miles down
the road from her birthplace.
Nb this photo is taken in a different direction to Maw's birth and also
her burial place. But, it gives you a perspective of how important
Wallace is in Scots history. A history deficient in Scottishness, but
nevertheless, remembered in our folks oral histories!
'Lang mae yir lum reek, Wullie, wae ithir folks coals!'
Scots, as a language, survives due tae Grannies et al and the tradition
oh Scots Mithers nursin there wains oan traditional story tellin!
