  • Ch shows reference to 'Pollan Bay' NB GFE's recollection is that 'Pollan/Pollen' is a type of fish, which could mean that the name of 'Pollan', and all of its derivatives e.g.,'Polland/McPoland et al' might have come from my speculated theory, that the first Irish Polland's over from Ireland ca early 1800's, might have been fisher folks originally?

This book 'The Last of the Name' might just be the key to my current and future research in the possibility of Pollands coming from coastal areas rather than rural climes!
