Recording Mum's Queensferry Crossing song

On a brisk sunny morning we set of for the Blue Mountains to a recording studio of a friend of Lisa's who had offered to record Mum's song.  Phil Rooke is an amazing creative, giving person offering this opportunity to us.

Here is the link to the finished song:

The process involved Phil firstly recording the background music on keyboard which is then recorded as one of the tracks of music into his computer. Phil and Mum discussed best key's - they settled on D and then also the speed.  Phil used a clicking track to work to that speed to record the background music. While he was doing that Mum was warming up her voice and singing along

Then he got Mum in front of the microphone and worked with here to record her singing the song.  Phil was so encouraging and supportive that Mum felt more and more relaxed as she had been quite anxious earlier.

Later Phil also videoed Mum singing so that could be included in a video with the music.

You can see the video that was taken of Mum singing it in public for the first time in a previous post.  We should be able to post a new video in a few weeks.
