I just knew that all that frenetic Rock'n'Rolling in that much criticised era, was 😊 good for the soul, vindicating sweaty dancing, the real 'sport' of the discerning intelligent being!
On the RHSide of Circular Quay is where we Ellis's arrived on 13 Jan 1964, after leaving Southampton on 12Dec1963.
The MV Fairsky docked on the Bridge side of the Quay.
18 Dec 1971. On the Opera House side, that Maw's ship, MV Australis, after my Dad died, Maw, came out, through the Whitlam Government scheme, 'Family Reunion', whereby home sick migrants could sponsor relatives, which helped to stem those migrants from leaving.
Lisa, seeing Maw for the first time, said, 'Grannie looks sad'. It was a combination of looking after my sick Dad, and general hard work looking after a sick husband, that Maw was worn out.
Maw died 24 June 2000, some 29 years of Aussie relative piece and content
Much if this was due to Eleanor for her bolstering Maw's confidence and general mental and physical health, such that Maw enjoyed her new found freedom, traveling the world, visiting USA as well as almost annual holidays in Scotland, as well as many years housekeeping in Wangi, wherecwe visited last week with John and Lisa' quest for a home thereabouts.
'Lesson for today'
Mum's and Dad's Memories. When doctors live in the real world, of dealing with the everyday electronic revolution that placed the burden of business dealings, in the home, instead of at the 'till', then they, like most critics, need a reality check.
Because, mainly the burden, still falls, on the home manager, who, just so happens to be the Woman (mainly), of the house.
Society has now just placed the burden back onto the, mainly wimen, who look after family budgets!
And like the famous film, 'we wont take it anymore', should be taken up in this sexist onslaught worn by 'mainly females'!
Time for blokes and women, to object strongly about this sexist putdown!
Dad says: I'm not getting older, I'm getting better
